The better I get to know how my energy works, the better I know how your energy works.
When Albert Einstein said E=mc^2, he said everything in the universe is made of the same stuff, whether solid or moving.
We're using the word Energy in the same spirit, but applying it to subjective experiences. Anything that moves back and forth, be it thoughts, emotions, sensations, body parts, or the whole body, is energy. Like current moving back and forth in a wire, doing work on electrical appliances as it goes, the body energy does work as it oscillates.
Keep your awareness region larger than the oscillation, and you can observe this process without getting swept along with it. If you're observing emotion keep the region at the chest; if observing thought keep the region around the head.

The MBAT app shows you what the basic energy movement options are, and helps you practice them. Some people like to be versatile, and move in any direction easily. Some people may like to be more clear about which directions they tend to go in so they can do something about it. Some people, such as sitting meditators, sit for hours trying to not go in any of the directions.


Hold a toy jack so that one end is between your fingers. Notice that the unit distances up, down, front, back, left, and right meet in the center.

Observe the energy moving in your body and identify which direction is it going relative to the Axes on the jack.

Make the awareness center pulse faster. Tap on the screen when you feel your energy in a different place. Continue until the timer ends.

Place the on-screen awareness focus on the location where the energy is most active. Think an affirmation such as, "I am resolving the problem or clarifying the issue here." Hold for 5 minutes.
